What do you think of when you hear the term “Permanent Jewellery”?

The most common thing I hear is that people think it's a type of body piercing… and I can assure you that this is not the case. I am not a fan of needles - except for tattoos of course - so there is no way that I could pierce someone's skin!

Think of Permanent Jewellery as a modern-day friendship bracelet. They have also been named infinity bracelets, welded bracelets, and soldered bracelets - they are a clasp-free, dainty chain, custom fit to you. And truly, they aren’t really “permanent”, the jump ring can be cut off using a pair of cutters or scissors, just make sure to keep your chain so I can re-solder it back on for you for a small cost!

Currently, all appointments are at my home studio, but I will update you when you can find me at various pop-up locations and markets.

What is Permanent Jewellery?
It is a dainty, custom bracelet or anklet, sized just for you and welded together. Because the jewellery has no clasp, it's permanent!

Can I wear it in the shower or the ocean?
You sure can! You can wear our pieces in bed, in the shower and even in the ocean. However, we do not recommend wearing crystals or freshwater pearls in water as they may discolour, loosen or fall out over time. Please remember to clean your jewellery after wearing it in water to maintain it's shine.

Where are you located, and can I visit?
There are a few options!
1. Bookings are at my home studio in Broome unless specified otherwise, so bookings are essential please.
2. Visit us at the Broome Courthouse Markets & Staircase to the Moon Night Markets. Market dates and Pop-up locations around Broome will be shown here or on our Facebook / Instagram page.
3. Book a private party!

Does it hurt?
No! The process is quick and painless. We will use a barrier between your jewellery and your skin as well as offer eye protection from the spark.

How long does Permanent Jewellery last?
Permanent does not mean invincible - at the end of the day, it is a dainty chain and care needs to be taken. It also depends on your daily activities, the care taken whilst wearing, products used or your body's chemical makeup.

How long does it take?
Appointment bookings are 20 minutes long, but the weld itself only takes a few seconds! The rest of the time we ensure that you are happy with the placement and fit of your chain.

What happens if I need to remove it?
Easy peasy... just cut the jump ring off using some sharp scissors or side cutters. Keep your chain safe and then book an appointment to re-solder it back on. We can even add a clasp to make it non-permanent!

Can I get a matching with my mini?
Absolutely... what a fun and cute idea! You will just need to book two consecutive appointments and make sure that your little one is able to sit still. We can also make their jewellery with a clasp instead - same same but different!

Will Permanent Jewellery be an issue travelling through airport security?
Not at all! It is a fine dainty chain and unlike a solid bangle, they are too delicate to be picked up by the metal detectors in airport security.

Will the hospital require me to take it off?
It depends on the reason for your hospital visit, but yes, most likely it will need to be removed. Please discuss this with your doctors first. Just remember to cut the jump ring, keep your chain safe and then return to us to have it re-soldered, or you could even add a clasp to make it non-permanent.

Do you do private parties and pop-ups at local businesses?
Yes! If you are a local Broome Business having an event and would like to offer your guests permanent jewellery, please get in touch! You can also book private group bookings via our booking page here.

For locations that require travel of more than 1hr, a travel fee will be charged. We require a non-refundable $100 deposit to book a party. This deposit is applied towards the host’s purchase. We require a 4 people minimum per party & discounted pricing will apply. (HOT TIP: The more people the higher the discount!) If a cancellation is needed, we require 1 week minimum notice to not forfeit the deposit.

Do you do gift vouchers?
Of course! Some people can be tricky to buy gifts for, and gift vouchers are a great option. We have both digital and physical vouchers available, and they can be purchased here. Choose your amount and once you purchase, your virtual gift card will be emailed to you. Just make sure that you contact me to book your appointment, and that you bring the gift card voucher code with you to redeem.

What if it breaks?
Before you leave your appointment, we will inspect the weld and the chain to ensure its strength. Our permanent jewellery comes with a 7-day warranty. If your bracelet or anklet breaks at the jump ring weld within the first 7 days, please get in touch with us to organise the repair at no cost to you. You will need to bring the chain with you, otherwise, this warranty is void and you will need to purchase a new chain.

Any breakage beyond this timeframe will incur a $9.95 repair fee - providing that it has broken at the jump ring and not the chain itself. Even though our chain is of the highest quality and strength, dainty jewellery does have its limits. Just keep your chain safely put away and send us a message to figure out the best way to repair it for you.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
Your jewellery is custom fit and personalised for you, so we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges. Bookings cancelled within 12 hours of service attract a 50% cancellation fee. Failing to attend your booking without notice will attract a 100% cancellation fee with no refund. Remember that you can reschedule your appointment up to 12hrs prior to your booked time. Gold-fill is where two sheets of solid karat gold (the most popular being 14kt gold) is bonded over a core of brass. Due to the surface layer of gold-filled jewellery being about 100 times thicker than any plating, gold-filled pieces tend to last much longer, and are considered ‘lifetime jewellery’.

How long gold-filled jewellery lasts depends largely on the chemical makeup of the person and the care taken with the jewellery.

Gold-plated jewellery is made using a thin layer of gold to surround base metals or Sterling Silver. The fine layer of gold is set using the method of chemical or electrochemical plating. It is the cheapest and is the quickest to tarnish.

When Sterling Silver is used as the interior metal, with at least 2 microns of gold plating, the item is primarily labelled as Gold Vermeil.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.

The reason sterling silver requires the mixture of other metals is because naturally, pure silver is soft. Adding other metals to the silver increases the hardness, making it more suitable and durable for use in jewellery.

The result of this process also produces that signature silver color: bright, shiny and metallic.

The only downfall of this beautiful metal is that it can tarnish, which is why it’s important to regularly clean and maintain sterling silver jewellery. Sterling silver is a great option for sensitive skin as inexpensive metals like nickel or brass can cause reactions, especially with earrings.

Bottom line: Sterling silver, aka 925 silver is hypoallergenic, high quality, stylish, durable and safe.
